About our Founder
Jocelyn Kirkland is a master educator, leadership coach, and social impact leader with over two decades of experience working closely with children, families, and professionals across diverse communities. Throughout her career, she has developed a deep understanding of what helps people truly show up—confident, self-aware, and ready to engage with the world around them.
As a woman of faith, Jocelyn grounds all of her work in the belief that every person was created with purpose. This conviction shapes how she leads, serves, and builds—striving to treat others the way she desires to be treated, to serve people the way she would want to be served, and to create the kind of impact she hopes to see in the world. Her work is an extension of her values: to be the change she wishes to experience and to help others recognize their own worth and calling.
Her work has spanned classrooms, coaching spaces, and leadership development, where she has supported both students and adults in unlocking their potential. As a seasoned educator and instructional leader, Jocelyn has not only guided academic growth but has also focused on the social and emotional factors that shape confidence, identity, and long-term success.
What sets Jocelyn apart is her ability to connect lived experience with professional expertise. Through years of observing human behavior, building relationships, and supporting personal growth, she has seen firsthand how confidence—or the lack of it—can influence every aspect of a person’s life. This insight fuels both her passion and her purpose.
As a dedicated social impact agent, Jocelyn is deeply committed to helping people feel seen, valued, and empowered. She believes that when people are met with care, intention, and access to resources, transformation becomes possible—not just individually, but across entire communities.
She is also a proud wife and mother of three, and her love for her family is at the center of everything she does. It is this personal connection that drives her to create meaningful, lasting change not just for her own children, but for families everywhere.
Jocelyn founded Apex Affect as a way to give back—creating opportunities for others to pour into communities alongside her. Through Apex Affect, she invites individuals, partners, and supporters to be part of a movement centered on confidence, care, hope, and collective impact.
